Fitness is the preparedness skill you carry in your body. This checklist covers finding your baseline, building daily movement, training the core movements that cover most household scenarios, and building in recovery.

Step 1

Know Where You Stand.

Fitness levels are not about judgment. They describe what your body can reliably do right now, and what to build toward next.

Step 2

Build Daily Movement.

Level 1 is not a fitness program. It is the decision to stop being sedentary. No gym, no equipment, no schedule.

Step 3

Train the Core Preparedness Movements.

Walking, carrying, and stair climbing cover most ordinary disruptions: a power outage, a slip on ice, a brief evacuation.

Step 4

Recover and Recheck.

Fitness moves in both directions. Illness, injury, and a hard month at work are normal. Recheck monthly and start again from wherever you are.

Gear

Essentials. Start here.

A comfortable pair of walking shoes and something to load for carrying practice cover most of what this checklist asks for.
