Why this matters

Make the next decision clearer.

Food only helps if it remains safe, accessible, and familiar. Buy foods you use, store them cool and dry, put older items first, and replace them through ordinary meals.

Start with normal meals

List meals people already eat before adding larger quantities.

Count the preparation needs

Include water, fuel, utensils, and safe storage in every food decision.

Rotate deliberately

Use older shelf-stable food first and replace it through ordinary shopping.

Put it on paper

A plan you can use and review.

Use this simple table to record the decision, the household-specific detail, and the next time you will test or update it.
