Run It, and Keep It Current

Plans go stale. Reviews keep them honest.

The plan is only as good as its last review

A plan written once and never reopened describes a household that no longer exists. People move in and out, jobs change, children grow, and the rhythm that worked in September breaks in January. The plan stays useful only if someone reopens it on a schedule and asks whether it still matches reality.

A cadence, not a feeling

The review should be a recurring event on the calendar, not something the household gets around to when it feels right. Monthly is a good starting cadence. Quarterly is the minimum. The second reading for this module covers how a short household meeting works as the natural moment for the review.

A plan that never gets reopened stops being true within a season.

The worksheet below asks for two things: how often you will reopen the plan, and who is responsible for making sure it happens. When both are filled in, the course is complete. Your household now has a system, an owner for each part, a set of priorities, a rhythm, an improvement list, an operating plan, and a cadence that keeps it all current.

Set the review cadence.

Choose how often you will reopen the plan and name who runs the review. A plan that never gets reopened stops being true within a season.
