Keeping ordinary clothing and accessories in service.
Unit 5 handles the laundry. This course picks up where laundry stops: the garment is clean, now can you keep it usable? By the end, a missing button or a split seam is a five-minute fix, not a shopping trip.
Reading care and fiber labels, building a basic mending kit, hand sewing, buttons and fasteners, seam repair, patching and darning, hems and simple alterations, pressing, footwear and accessory care, and repair-or-replace decisions.
Machine sewing, garment construction, tailored alterations, professional dressmaking, or safety-certified textile repair. Routine laundering, stain removal, and dryer operation belong to Unit 5.
Eight modules, three tiers.
Work through them in order. Each tier ends with something you can point to and say the household can now do this.
