One person, one site.
New World Survival is an independently operated educational website focused on emergency preparedness and self-reliance. This privacy policy describes how the site collects, uses, stores, and protects information from visitors.

What we collect
The short list of what we know.
Information you provide directly
If you subscribe to the Weekly Readiness Brief or any email list, I collect your email address. If you fill out a contact form, I collect whatever you include in that form. I do not ask for information I do not need.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, this site collects standard analytics data: pages visited, time on page, referring URLs, browser type, device type, and approximate geographic location (city/region level, not street address). This data comes from analytics tools and server logs. It helps me understand which content is useful and where readers are coming from.
ZIP codes and location-based tools
Some tools on this site ask for a ZIP code to provide localized risk information, planting calendars, or resource directories. Your ZIP is used to generate the results you asked for. It is also saved with the visitor record described below, so the site can show you local information on a later visit. It is never sold or shared with third parties.
Saved work and the visitor record
This site keeps a record so the work you save survives a closed tab or a new device. On your first visit it creates a visitor ID, which is a random string rather than your name. Every few hours, and shortly after you change any saved work, the site sends that ID to my server along with the pages and topics you have browsed, your ZIP if you entered one, and a copy of the work stored in your browser: assessment answers, checklist progress, and your provisions inventory.
This happens whether or not you have given me an email address. The record is held under the random ID and is not attached to your name. If you later provide an email, the two are linked from that point on.
Accounts and household profiles
If you create an account with an email address, I store that email, the checklists you save, and, if you complete the My Readiness assessment, your household profile. That profile can include how many people live with you, their ages, pets, medical and mobility needs, housing type, and where you live. It is stored so your checklists can be personalized and reached from another device. It is the most sensitive information on this site and it is never sold or shared.
Chatbot conversations
Questions asked through the site chatbot are logged along with the answer given, the page you asked from, a session ID, and your ZIP if the site knows it. I read these to find gaps in the site's content. Please do not type anything into the chatbot that you would not want stored.
What I do not store
Your IP address is used for a few seconds to limit abusive request rates and is not written to any database. I do not collect payment information, because nothing is sold directly on this site.
Cookies & tracking
What cookies this site uses.
This site uses cookies for analytics (to understand traffic patterns) and may set cookies through affiliate partner links when you click on a product recommendation. Affiliate cookies allow the partner to attribute a purchase to this site so we can earn a commission.
I do not use cookies for behavioral advertising, retargeting, or building a profile of your interests across other websites.
You can disable cookies entirely through your browser settings. Most modern browsers also allow you to block third-party cookies while keeping first-party cookies active. Disabling cookies will not affect your ability to read the site's content.
How data is used
Only for what you'd expect.
Email addresses are used to send the content you signed up for. Analytics data is used to understand how readers use the site so I can improve it. The visitor record and your saved work are used to restore your progress across devices and to show you information relevant to where you live. Chatbot logs are used to find gaps in the site's content.
I do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. I do not use your email address for anything other than what you signed up for. I do not share analytics data with anyone except the analytics service provider (which processes it on my behalf under their own privacy policy).
How long I keep it. Visitor records are kept for eighteen months after your last visit. Chatbot logs are kept for twelve months. Account data, including saved checklists and your household profile, is kept until you ask me to remove it. Sign-in sessions expire on their own.
Third-party services
Other companies involved.
This site uses third-party services for hosting, analytics, email delivery, and affiliate tracking. Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing how it handles data. The major categories include:
Analytics to understand traffic and reader behavior. Email service provider to send newsletters and the Weekly Readiness Brief. Affiliate networks that track purchases made through product links on the site. Content delivery and hosting services that serve the site's files to your browser.
I select services that handle data responsibly, but I cannot control how third-party providers manage information once it leaves this site. I encourage you to review their privacy policies independently.
Your choices
What you can do.
Unsubscribe from emails at any time using the unsubscribe link included in every email I send. Your email will be removed from the mailing list.
Disable cookies in your browser settings. This will not affect your ability to read the site.
Request data deletion. Write to info@newworldsurvival.com and I will delete your account, your saved checklists, your household profile, and your visitor record within thirty days. I handle these by hand, so please tell me the email address you used on the site.
Clear what is stored in your browser. Clearing site data for newworldsurvival.com in your browser settings removes the saved work held on your device. A copy already sent to my server stays until you ask me to delete it.
Opt out of analytics. Most analytics services offer browser extensions or settings that let you opt out of tracking across all sites that use their service.
Children's privacy
Under 13: a note for parents.
This site is not directed at children under 13. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information through this site, please contact me and I will delete it promptly.
Last updated: August 31, 2026. This policy may be revised at any time. Changes take effect when posted. I will not retroactively change how previously collected data is used without notifying affected users. Questions about this policy go to info@newworldsurvival.com.
