Never run a generator indoors, in a garage, on a covered porch, in a carport, or in any enclosed or partially enclosed space, even with doors or windows open. The other thing to know is what this generator is not: a whole-home backup unit. At 2,900 running watts, it will not start a central air conditioner, an electric water heater, or a well pump, and it has no 240V or transfer-switch outlet. Maintenance
Run the generator under load for 15 to 30 minutes every 30 days to keep the engine and fuel system in working order. Use the fuel shutoff feature at the end of each gasoline run to clear the carburetor, and add fuel stabilizer for storage periods longer than 30 days. Propane does not require this step.
Check the oil level before every use; the built-in low-oil shutdown helps prevent damage if it runs low. Follow the manual's schedule for oil changes, typically an earlier first change followed by longer intervals once the engine is broken in. Inspect the air filter and spark plug annually.
